Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle by delivering day-to-day HR services, programs, and processes. This role ensures consistent application of policies, provides guidance to employees and managers, and supports People & Culture initiatives that contribute to a positive and productive workplace. The HR Generalist works closely with the People & Culture team to ensure smooth operations and compliance with employment standards.

Primary Objectives of the Role

• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers.
• Administer HR programs including onboarding, benefits, leaves, and performance management.
• Ensure HR policies are understood, applied consistently, and compliant with legislation.
• Support employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives.
• Partner with HR leadership on projects and process improvements.
• Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, programs, and processes.
• Assist with the administration of HR programs such as onboarding, orientation, benefits, leaves of absence, and performance management cycles.
• Support employee relations by gathering information, documenting issues, and escalating to senior P&C staff when appropriate.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to coordinate job postings, interviews, and new hire onboarding.
• Maintain HRIS data, employee files, and reporting for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in the development and rollout of training, engagement, and recognition programs.
• Monitor compliance with employment legislation and organizational policies.
• Support P&C projects and process improvements as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a generalist capacity.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and rapport at all levels.
• Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• HR designation (CHRP/CPHR) preferred or working toward designation.

Work Environment and Requirements·

• Ability to attend the Oakville, Ontario office on a regular (2-3 times per weeks) will be given preference
• Open concept office environment.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed

Travel requirements

• Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays
