Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the Psychologist - PhD - Senior will provide direct clinical assessment, consultation, and intervention services to adults (ages 18 years and up) to address health concerns, psychological complications related to health concerns, or medical conditions arising predominantly from psychological factors. The Psychologist – PhD – Senior will engage in diagnostic services needed to support such interventions. The Psychologist - PhD – Senior will provide these services to clients of the department, outpatient services, and inpatient services using empirically supported treatments. The Psychologist – PhD – Senior will provide training and/or supervision to pre-doctoral residents of the CPA accredited residency program, as well as training to graduate students in psychology, learners in other fields, and health care staff seeking stronger psychological intervention skills to support health self-management in their clients. The Psychologist - PhD – Senior will be accountable for clinical training and supervision, teaching and program evaluation for the program.

Experience
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as a psychologist in a clinical setting
- Experience in inpatient health services and hospital consultation is an asset
Education
- PhD in clinical or counselling psychology from a CPA/APA accredited training program or equivalent.
Licenses
- Valid class 5 driver license
Other Education and Training
- Completion of PhD Residency training from a Canadian/American Psychology accredited program in clinical or counselling psychology or equivalent
- Declared competence in the areas of clinical and health psychology within the age categories of adults and the aged

Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge in providing assessment, intervention and consultation services for adults
- Knowledge of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) ethics code, the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists (SCP) professional guidelines, and the capacity to be professionally accountable, fulfilling responsibilities as a psychologist and accepting responsibility for their actions
- Ability to interpret a variety of standardized psycho-diagnostic assessment tools to make Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) diagnoses
- Ability to provide a wide variety of evidence-based and "best practice" interventions
- Ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships with adult clients from both the dominant culture and those from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to assess, treat and provide consultation around the impact of medical/health issues and co-morbid psychological features on biopsychosocial functioning
- Ability to collaborate and maintain working relationships within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adjust work priorities in response to a variety of situations in a timely manner
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to engage independently and within the confines of the SHA in ongoing professional development and networking
