We're seeking a bold, forward-thinking Business Lead to support the strategy and execution of our Experience program within Workplace Retirement and Savings. Reporting to the AVP, Business Enablement, this role is a catalyst for innovation—driving transformative digital experiences that redefine how our members and sponsors engage with Canada Life. Director, Business Lead
, you'll align cross-functional teams around a shared vision, establish guiding principles for product and technology execution, and ensure our digital platforms deliver measurable value to both members and plan sponsors. This role requires close collaboration with senior business leaders, product, technology, operations, marketing, and compliance partners to bring transformative digital experiences to life.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and continuously evolve the business and go-to-market strategy for the digital experiences for members and sponsors, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and the broader Workplace Retirement and Savings vision.
  • Program Ownership: Working with a program manager, lead the end-to-end business ownership of the experience program—setting direction, shaping the roadmap, driving prioritization, and overseeing performance metrics to ensure sustained value delivery.
  • Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to foster alignment, secure sponsorship, and drive successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Enterprise Collaboration: Influence and guide cross-functional teams—including product, UX, technology, and data—ensuring cohesive delivery of innovative digital solutions.
  • Member-Centric Innovation: Champion the voice of the member by leveraging data, insights, and research to inform experience design and continuously enhance digital touchpoints.
  • Change Leadership: Lead organizational change initiatives that embed digital-first mindsets and behaviors, driving adoption and cultural transformation across the business.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure all digital initiatives adhere to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards, balancing innovation with risk management.

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services, insurance, or a related industry, with a strong track record of driving business growth and transformation.
  • Proven expertise in product management, program leadership, or digital transformation—leading initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
  • A strategic mindset with sharp problem-solving skills and the ability to turn bold vision into actionable plans.
  • Leadership excellence in guiding cross-functional teams within complex, matrixed environments.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse perspectives.
  • Experience with agile delivery, digital platforms, and customer experience design—bringing innovation to life across channels.
  • A passion for innovation and a deep commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of Canadians.

The base salary for this position is between
$102,300
- $187,700
annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
