RF Optimization Engineer (5G-SA Nokia) - Remote | Candidate residing in Toronto, ON

Note: The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a work Permit. The candidate should be able to work as an independent contractor. Only those with Nokia 5G SA/NSA RF Optimization experience within the last three years will be shortlisted for this position.

Experience: This role requires recent hands-on experience in Nokia 5G SA/NSA RF Optimization, with strong expertise in Nokia 5G VoNR. The candidate should have 3+ years experience in Nokia 5G-SA/NSA KPI Optimization, counters, features and parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • 2 years of recent experience in Radio Network Optimization experience of 5G-SA/NSA Nokia parameters, KPI, counters. Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing 5G-SA/NSA parametric network data.
  • Monitor & Optimize Daily/Weekly/Monthly Post-integration 5G SA/NSA KPIs i.e. Accessibility (RRC setup fail & VoNR & Data Setup Fail), Retainability (RRC drop , VoNR & Data drop) and Mobility (HO Fail & HO latency) by parametric optimization.
  • Analyzing 5G-SA/NSA Layer 3 messages, providing recommendations, and troubleshooting Nokia 5G-SA/NSA parameter changes to improve network performance including coverage, capacity, throughput
  • Deep troubleshooting of call flows (EMIL and TrueCall)
  • Extensive experience in Nokia specific tools such as NetAct, MantaRay NM, CM Editor & WebEM
  • Perform feature trials for 5G SA/NSA (throughput, coverage, load balancing, handover).
  • Post Process Drive test data using tools such as Actix/Actix-One,XCAL, TEMS Investigation/Pocket.
  • Use Visualization tools like Tableau and/or Power BI for 5G KPI analytics

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science, with a minimum of 8 years in RF engineering including 2 years of recent experience in 5G-SA VoNR radio network optimization of Nokia
  • Nokia Equipment knowledge - RRU, BBU, Antennas
  • Ability to analyze X2, S1 signaling, syslogs, and TTI traces for quick troubleshooting.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
