Sanitation Technician

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Wentworth Valley, Nova Scotia

Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday 8AM - 4PM with the occasional weekend shift if needed

Growth: Opportunities to advance within the Sanitation team or explore roles in other departments as new opportunities arise

Total Compensation:

o Hourly Rate: Starting at $19.50 per hour, with annual increases based on performance or promotions

o Vacation: 3 weeks vacation + 5 personal days

o Health and Dental Benefits: Available after 3 months of employment, 50/50 cost sharing

o RRSP Matching: Up to 5%, available after 3 months of employment

Your New Role

As a Sanitation Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

o Cleaning equipment and tools used in production

o Performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of cultivation areas, including walls, floors, and grow rooms

o Sanitizing rooms, equipment, and workspaces following GACP and Health Canada regulations

o Supporting pest management and biosecurity protocols

o Following all sanitation SOPs and safety procedures for chemical handling and PPE

o Gathering and disposing of trash and recycling

o Accurately completing cleaning logs and documentation

o Collaborating with quality assurance to meet cleaning standards

o Assisting with sanitation-related tasks in other departments when needed

You will be required to wear standard PPE (scrubs, lab coat, and masks) while working and could be responsible to assist other divisions with their tasks (ie: Packaging, Harvesting, etc.)

What You Need to Succeed – Qualifications

o Proven experience in sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning roles—ideally in a production, industrial, or cultivation environment

o Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs

o Have the Flexibility to clean in tight spaces and hard-to-reach areas

o Valid WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

o Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

o Dependable and self-motivated with a positive attitude

o Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete documentation accurately

o Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed

o Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
