POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced leader and strategic thinker to join the Office of Strategy Management team in North Vancouver as Senior Manager, Strategic Planning. Reporting to the Director, you will lead a team of advisors responsible for supporting the development and execution of the corporate strategy. In this role, you will collaborate with executive and senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and performance metrics, develop complex business strategies, monitor strategy execution, and provide data-driven insights to inform business decisions. You will also help anticipate and respond to external trends that may impact the organization, ensuring alignment across initiatives and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

  • Provide strategic guidance on business decisions, using a data-driven approach while fostering alignment and consensus.
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leaders to shape and refine the corporate strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement complex business strategies and initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable performance metrics and actionable plans.
  • Monitor strategy execution, identifying risks and issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Track external trends and support the development of responsive strategies to address potential impacts on the business.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:

  • Undergraduate degree with a professional designation, MBA, or consulting experience.
  • Over 5 years of management experience* leading teams and driving results in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking across complex portfolios, with strong problem-solving and thought leadership abilities.
  • Proven motivation to drive process improvements and to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Skilled at facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration to achieve consensus and desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling insights.
  • Results-oriented and proactive, capable of leading teams under ambiguity, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities while adapting to evolving organizational needs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and a natural curiosity that inspires others.
  • Awareness of emerging trends and developments in insurance and related industries is an asset.
