Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young learners. This role requires a strong commitment to educating students in various subjects, including English, Math, and Special Education, while fostering their social and emotional development. The teacher will work collaboratively with current staff, and the community to ensure each child achieves their fullest potential. The position has good potential to develop in to full time.

Duties

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.

- knowledge in core subjects such as English, Math, and Special Education in order to perform substitute duties.

- Utilize effective teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

- Communicate regularly with other staff to build confidence in the room.

- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

- Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations.

- Maintain organized records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.

- Collaborate with other educators to enhance instructional practices and share resources.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required.

- Valid teaching certification for elementary education In B.C.

- Montessori training is not a must but adjusting to the day to day of the existing theories is.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.

- Ability to create a supportive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.

- A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom culture that values diversity.
