Petroleum Designer

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Petroleum Designer is responsible for designing petroleum product piping and distributions systems for retail gas station, commercial cardlocks, bulk fuel storage facilities and other miscellaneous petroleum related projects for various clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Skilled intermediate to senior draftsperson with background experienced with mechanical systems and/or comprehension of pressurized piping infrastructure, standard fittings, pumps, and associated equipment in process industry.
  • Interpret, comprehend, and apply related design codes and regulations.
  • Responsible for preparing drawings for petroleum facility related projects. Packages consisting of site plans, piping schematics, piping related sections & details, equipment specifications and bill of materials, etc.
  • Review drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Aptitude to learn, contribute to, and support various design disciplines associated with a typical petroleum project including civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Travel as required and conduct site inspections throughout various stages of the project including site audits, tank excavations and installations, piping and conduit installations, final inspections and witness of equipment commissioning.

Credentials

  • 5+ years' experience in drafting and design in related industry is required
  • Certificate or Diploma related to Drafting and Design
  • Mechanical systems or petroleum piping experience is required
  • Must have working experience with AutoCad (3D Modeling experience would be an asset)
  • Field review experience is preferred

The successful candidate must be motivated, capable of working independently and works well with others, detail oriented, have good written and verbal communication skills, and have the time management skills to handle multiple projects, stay focused under ever-changing project priorities and work within a project schedule.

Pay: $65,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
