The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us attract and hire the best talent as we grow. You'll manage full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and screening, to closing candidates while building a strong employer brand and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.

This is a 12-month contract role, with the opportunity to extend or convert to permanent employment, depending on business needs and performance.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-impact environment and wants to help shape how recruiting is done in a growing, remote-first company. You'll act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers, bringing market insights and hiring best practices to every search. We're looking for someone who is comfortable trying new things, creating and refining processes, and who considers themselves a builder and collaborator. You are someone who can move quickly, experiment thoughtfully, and continuously improve how we hire. You should be open to feedback as we evolve our approach to talent acquisition, and equally comfortable giving thoughtful feedback to others to help the team improve together.

What You'll Do
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across the company, with a focus on bringing in exceptional technical talent that will help shape our future.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers as their go-to talent advisor, helping refine role scopes, align hiring needs with market realities, and keep the entire process smooth, informed, and efficient.
  • Build strong, engaged talent pipelines using smart sourcing strategies across LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox (PeopleGPT), Boolean search, referrals.
  • Keep our ATS (Greenhouse) in great shape, ensuring clean data, organized pipelines, and reliable reporting.
  • Own recruiting coordination from start to finish, including scheduling interviews, preparing offers, and managing background checks through Certn.
  • Keep our key recruiting metrics on track, regularly sharing insights and progress with the Manager of Human Resources to help us stay aligned and ahead.
  • Support and continuously improve our interview frameworks, scorecards, and training resources so every hiring decision is fair, consistent, and rooted in quality.
  • Use structured assessment tools (like skills tests and structured interviews) to help teams make confident, equitable hiring decisions.
  • Train and coach hiring managers on interview best practices, empowering them to show up prepared and confident.
  • Create and analyze candidate NPS surveys, using feedback to elevate our hiring experience at every step.
  • Champion an exceptional candidate journey, making sure every interaction feels welcoming, transparent, and aligned with our culture and values.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to bring our employer brand to life across Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and our career site, attracting diverse, high-quality talent who are excited to join us.
  • Provide market-informed guidance on compensation, talent trends, and offer strategies, with a strong understanding of Canadian market dynamics.
  • Jump in to support broader recruiting needs beyond technical roles when required, helping the team stay agile and responsive.
What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with 2+ years focused on hiring technical roles (Engineering, Data, Product, etc.)
  • Proven success recruiting for a rapidly scaling start up, and a track record of hiring top talent quickly.
  • Experience building or improving talent acquisition frameworks and processes that support scale.
  • Ability to act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers, balancing business needs with market realities.
  • Proficiency with modern ATS platforms (eGreenhouse, Lever, Ashby or similar).
  • Strong sourcing capabilities using modern tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Juicebox or similar).
  • Knowledge of structured assessment methods and tools (HiPeople, Codility, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with employer branding and talent marketing initiatives that attract diverse, high-quality candidates.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote-first, fast-paced company environment.
  • Understanding of compensation benchmarking and offer negotiation practices in Canadian markets.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
  • Experience in regulated industries (payments, banking, compliance, digital assets).
  • A combination of in-house and agency recruiting experience.
