Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Caregiver to support a client in a private home setting located in Deep South East Calgary. This role requires consistency, as the client is living with dementia and benefits greatly from familiar, dependable caregivers.

Important Requirements (Please Read Carefully):

  • Must live in Calgary or be willing to travel to Deep SE Calgary
  • Must be available Monday to Saturday to ensure consistent care
  • Must be willing to work split shifts when required (morning and afternoon) to drop off and pick up the client from a day home program
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle, as driving is required
  • Experience with dementia care is strongly preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Caregiver, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with personal care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Preparing meals and supporting proper nutrition
  • Administering medications as prescribed and monitoring the client's condition
  • Assisting with mobility and physical activities (including lifting when required)
  • Light housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Transporting the client to a day home program, appointments, and running errands
  • Engaging the client in social and recreational activities
  • Documenting care provided and reporting any changes in condition

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in home care, assisted living, or dementia care
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
  • Ability to work independently and reliably
  • Flexibility to work split shifts and occasional short-notice coverage
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
