Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Research & Project Assistant
to support the development of a
virtual training program for educators
focused on
gender equity, gender-based violence prevention, and youth leadership for boys
. This short-term, contract-based position will involve assisting the project lead in refining and building out the program's curriculum, compiling educational resources, and developing engaging training materials.

The
core curriculum framework has already been designed
, and the assistant will play a key supporting role in transforming this content into a cohesive, self-paced online training classroom for educators. The final deliverable will be a
comprehensive digital training program
featuring videos, readings, interactive activities, and educator reflection tools. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a values-driven, feminist-aligned project — with the potential for
future collaborations and contracts
for the right candidate.

Program Overview

This project is part of a broader initiative to
equip educators with accessible, high-quality resources
to advance gender equity and prevent gender-based violence among youth. The online training will help educators strengthen their capacity to facilitate dialogue with boys around identity, empathy, accountability, and leadership.

Rooted in feminist and trauma-informed frameworks, the program supports educators to build safe and inclusive classroom spaces where boys can explore healthy masculinities, emotional intelligence, and allyship. The Research & Project Assistant will ensure the training content is
evidence-based, inclusive, and practically applicable
, supporting the project lead in developing a learning experience that is as rigorous as it is inspiring.

Key Roles + Responsibilities

  • Support the
    project lead
    in developing and finalizing the virtual training curriculum.
  • Conduct
    research
    on key themes related to gender-based violence, gender equity, and engaging boys and men in gender justice.
  • Identify, review, and vet
    existing educational resources (videos, articles, programs, toolkits) to ensure alignment with ethical and feminist standards.
  • Compile curated materials into a
    cohesive training package
    for online delivery.
  • Assist with
    curriculum formatting
    , including slide deck design, training scripts, and content summaries.
  • Draft clear, accessible content such as
    educator guides, reflective questions, and learning activities
    .
  • Collaborate with the project lead on ongoing planning, review, and adaptation of materials.
  • Maintain organized documentation of sources and references.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Background in
    education, social work, gender studies
    , or related field.
  • Strong skills in
    research, curriculum writing, and educational content development
    .
  • Familiarity with
    gender-based violence prevention, equity, and youth leadership
    .
  • Demonstrated understanding of
    feminist, trauma-informed, and inclusive approaches
    to learning.
  • Excellent writing and organizational abilities; detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Reliable access to a computer, stable internet, and private workspace.

Logistics + Compensation
