About the Role

We are looking for an experienced
MEP Engineer
to join our delivery team on a
hyperscale data centre construction project
. This role will focus on the coordination, installation, and integration of complex mechanical and electrical systems that form the backbone of a mission-critical facility.

You'll be part of a fast-paced environment where precision, technical excellence, and reliability are key. Working within a major data centre build, you'll ensure all MEP services are executed to the highest standard, meeting the demands of continuous uptime and high load capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate
    MEP installations
    from design through to commissioning on a live data centre construction site.
  • Review and interpret detailed MEP design drawings, specifications, and BIM models to identify potential issues or conflicts early.
  • Oversee the integration of
    power, cooling, fire suppression, and monitoring systems
    to ensure reliability and redundancy.
  • Collaborate daily with
    electrical, mechanical, and commissioning subcontractors
    to maintain progress and quality.
  • Support the
    commissioning process
    , ensuring systems like UPS, generators, CRACs, chillers, and BMS controls meet performance standards.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections and support QA/QC procedures across MEP installations.
  • Interface with client representatives, consultants, and the wider construction management team to ensure project alignment.
  • Drive compliance with Canadian Building Codes, NFPA standards, and data centre industry best practices (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • 4–8 years' experience in
    data centre
    ,
    mission-critical
    , or
    high-tech facility construction
    .
  • Proven understanding of
    redundant electrical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators)
    and
    mechanical cooling systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units)
    .
  • Experience working with
    main contractors
    or large MEP subcontractors on fast-track, high-spec builds.
  • Familiar with design coordination tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent knowledge of commissioning and systems turnover processes.
  • Strong communication, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Eligible to work in Canada (visa sponsorship may be available for exceptional candidates).
