Lead Quantitative Structurer

Desjardins Investment Inc is seeking a Lead Quantitative Structurer to join its Structured Products Development and Management team. The team's activities include idea generation, product development and positioning, structuring, hedging, and market making. Products developed include Market-Linked Guaranteed Investments (MLGI), Desjardins Structured Notes for retail investors, and equity derivatives for institutional partners. The Desjardins Investment Savings Account, offered through brokerage networks, also falls under the team's responsibility. Reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Structured Products, you will play a strategic role in the design, structuring, and modeling of derivative and structured products offered to retail and institutional investors. You will be responsible for the development, validation, and evolution of quantitative models used for pricing, hedging, and managing products, with a direct impact on the financial results of several business lines. This role combines deep expertise in derivative structuring, mastery of quantitative tools, and functional leadership with quantitative developers. You will actively contribute to product ideation, continuous process improvement, and the evolution of the business system used for managing structured products. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Design, analyze, and optimize complex financial product structures based on market conditions and business objectives.

• Develop and maintain pricing and hedging models used for structured products, including OTC equity derivatives.

• Coordinate the activities of quantitative developers and provide technical coaching: mandate prioritization, model validation, and support in skill development and complex problem-solving.

• Collaborate closely with traders, product managers, IT, risk, and treasury teams to ensure the robustness and consistency of hedging solutions.

• Contribute to the evolution of the business system by integrating quantitative functionalities aligned with product needs.

• Actively participate in the ideation and development of new financial products, incorporating differentiating elements from modeling.

• Participate in monitoring margins, positions, and hedging parameters related to developed models.

• Participate in product governance committees and strategic discussions on technological evolution.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and tools used in structuring and product management.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience

• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

• Academic specialization in quantitative finance, financial engineering, or a related field

• Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients

• Expertise in structured products, OTC derivatives, financial modeling, and programming (C#, Python, SQL)
