Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance, including seniors and persons with disabilities. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the comfort and well-being of those you assist. This position requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to handle various tasks related to daily living.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, and dressing for clients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Assist with daily living activities in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care, senior care, or working with persons with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in medication administration is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certification related to caregiving.
