  • You will play an important role in:

You alongside the asset management team will be responsible for the short and long-term asset management strategies of a portfolio of Renewable Energy Projects in North America with a primary focus in Canada and the US. You will lead execute and present on projects related to performance monitoring, financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, business case development, partner needs, and stakeholder engagement. You will collaborate with and support a team of Asset Managers with a growing portfolio across Wind, Storage, Solar, and Hydro technologies. You will immediately work with skilled and seasoned resources to ensure sites run safely, efficiently, and compliantly.

In your role, your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Asset Management & Optimization: Assist in monitoring the long-term performance of renewable energy assets, identifying opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation. Work with internal teams to gather technical and commercial optimizations across the asset lifecycle. Lead and present analysis on short & long-term value of optimization projects and investment required. Support the implementation and updates of site and portfolio asset management strategies incorporating the optimization projects.
  • Financial Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Collect, monitor and analyze energy production, operational costs, and financial performance. Assist in preparing and peer-reviewing annual budgets, forecasts, and reports related to our assets. Support and lead as required regular review of our financial models and long-term tracking of project IRR (and other metrics) compared to original investment decisions. Update tracking models as required.
  • Contract & Stakeholder Management: Provide support in managing project-related agreement scopes including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Asset Management Agreements, O&M contracts, and other project-related agreements. Support colleagues in review and evaluation of new contracts or renewals, calculation and execution of benefits/royalties, and scenario evaluation. Support preparation and tracking of stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Project and Transaction Support: Support input of financial assumptions, optimization options, and operational data projects as required: M&A, capital recycling, new project development, construction, operations, and end-of-life. Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with long-term asset management and growth strategies for each phase of our projects and value definitions. Analyze opportunities & prepare key decision materials.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, contractual, environmental, safety, and regulatory risks. Update risk tracking tools with relevant asset managers.
  • Performance Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation: Track and support calculation of performance metrics and KPIs ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of asset performance: financial health, special project status, required updates. Prepare presentations, summaries, and recommendations to relevant asset managers for a senior leadership audience, stakeholders, and partners. Maintain records and documentation associated with asset management program requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal departments to improve operational strategies, contract strategies, and implement innovative solutions. Support the continuous improvement of operational practices and project management systems, including contributing lessons learned.
  • Additional Projects or Scope – as assigned. Collaborate with Asset Management team to share best practices, review strategies and contribute recommendations for all technology types: Battery Storage, Solar, Wind, Hydro, Combined-Technology, and any new renewable energy opportunities.
  • To succeed in this position, you need:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field. Master's degree (MBA or similar) considered a plus.
  • Experience: 3+ years in Asset Management, Infrastructure or Private Equity Investing, Consulting, or Investment Banking.
  • Technical Knowledge: Asset Management (or similar programs), managerial accounting, financial & business case modeling, and energy-related technical experience (renewable energy technology knowledge considered a plus).
  • Language and Communication: French required (fluent in written and spoken). Excellent communication skills- including alignment across multiple disciplines, managing information flow and transparent communication flow to leadership teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and execute multiple project assignments with time-sensitive deliverables in self-motivated and proactive manner
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Project), SAP considered a plus, Power BI considered a plus
  • Ability to contribute to culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in interpreting and developing financial models, budgets, and forecasts for renewable energy assets.
  • Ability to understand a variety of contracts and translate requirements to plans of action
  • A valid driver's licence

Travel is required for this position, as you may have to visit sites in support of stakeholder meetings, team meetings, negotiations, or site familiarizations as assigned (up to 25% of the time) domestically and internationally.
