Position:

Reporting to the manager of the therapeutic recreation department the therapeutic recreation worker is responsible for implementation of therapeutic recreational and social programming for residents of Chancellor Park. The worker provides assistance to the manager in planning, developing and implementing social, leisure, and spiritual programs and services. Implementation of these programs and services will be based on assessed need and individual interests of residents. All programs and services of the therapeutic recreation department are intended to maintain or enhance the physical, cognitive, social and spiritual capabilities of each resident.

Hours of Work:

8 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends. We are currently considering applications for full time, part time and casual shifts. The schedule will be based on operational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 2 year diploma program in Therapeutic Recreation is required
  • Experience working with the elderly, preferably in a long term care setting is a definite asset
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Certificate of Good Conduct and a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Medical Certificate, including proof of immunizations and TB testing
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Compensation:

Salary and Benefits are in accordance with Chancellor Park and UFCW's Collective Agreement.
