Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Business Services, the Regional Manager, Business Services (HRM) is responsible for providing effective leadership through coaching and mentoring a team of Account Managers as well as managing a portfolio of commercial members by providing tailored financial advice and credit solutions. The incumbent ensures the success of commercial members through proactive relationship management, sound credit practices, and a deep understanding of business needs.
The Regional Manager, Business Services (HRM) is accountable for credit structuring, portfolio growth, risk monitoring, and delivering exceptional member service. As a trusted advisor, the incumbent works closely with internal teams to offer members holistic financial solutions and long-term partnership.
As a trusted representative of the Credit Union, the Regional Manager, Business Services upholds company policies, procedures, and service standards while consistently presenting a positive and professional image.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a high-performing team, including performance management, mentoring, and development, while tracking key service and productivity metrics.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with business members, delivering tailored financial solutions aligned with their goals.
- Support Branch Managers and staff in credit structuring, lending assessments, and decision-making, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Structure and negotiate lending solutions, ensuring complete, compliant submissions and ongoing administration of loans.
- Monitor portfolio performance, proactively manage risks, and engage members professionally to resolve delinquencies.
- Drive business development and deepen member relationships, referring to internal and external experts to meet targets across credit, deposits, and investments.
- Represent the Credit Union in the community and collaborate internally to support strategic initiatives and enhance offerings.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to reporting, and participate in projects supporting continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce (or an equivalent combination of training and experience), with six to nine years of progressive business lending experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role. They bring strong leadership, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of credit management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to guide teams through complex lending scenarios. Known for problem-solving and balancing organizational goals with client needs, they foster trust-based relationships and deliver exceptional, member-focused service. They also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time-management abilities, and proficiency with financial systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office, with a willingness to adopt new technologies. With a proven track record of building client relationships, driving results, and supporting continuous improvement, the ideal candidate ensures operational excellence and contributes to business growth.
