Job Description:

TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge, innovation, and experience in the following key areas of finance: Investment and Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, Interest Rate, Currency and Derivative Products. TD Securities works with clients around the world, and our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.

SRT Origination is part of the Asset Securitization Group (ASG) which falls under the Global Markets, Sales and Trading business. ASG covers North American clients spanning government, public and private companies from TD Securities Corporate and Investment Bank, and TD Commercial and Business Bank. We have team members in Toronto and New York.

SRT Origination structures significant risk transfer transactions focused on generating capital relief and managing risk limits. Our team is a franchise business that acts as a 'trusted advisor' by educating and assisting all our clients with tailored capital solutions.

Reporting to the Managing Director of SRT Origination, responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Client Management

  • Support the team in managing client and investor relationships
  • Prepare capital models, portfolio analysis, presentations, due diligence materials, credit documents and other materials to support transaction execution
  • Actively present SRT transactions and structures to clients and investors
  • Conduct analysis on asset classes, structures and regulations to determine the feasibility of new transactions and / or structures

Expertise and Strategy

  • Understanding of SRT structures and use cases
  • Familiarity with bank balance sheets and Capital Adequacy Requirements
  • Experience developing capital, cash flow or financial models
  • Understanding of SRT and / or traditional securitization transaction documentation
  • Ability to think creatively and innovate to solve complex problems

Risk and Control

  • Fully understands the risk appetite of TD and is actively managing transactions within this risk framework
  • Has extensive experience within the business and be proactive in identifying potential issues within the asset class or industry

Liaise with other internal departments, Treasury & Balance Sheet Management, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Credit, Investment Banking, Fixed Income and FX to align with our strategic objectives.

Job Requirements :

Some work experience in the financial service industry is required along with but not limited to, the following:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • University degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business or Economics
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of a range of Financial Products including: Securitization, FX, Fixed Income, Money Markets, or Interest Rate Derivatives
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines independently or in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking and sound judgement when making decisions
  • Good organizational skills, highly motivated and adaptable to a changing business environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and ability to develop clear and succinct presentations
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
  • Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements
