Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time teachers for French to join our team at Selis Learning Academy in Burnaby. This role requires in-person teaching, with candidates expected to commute to our Burnaby campuses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in French to adults and young children.
• Prepare lesson plans and educational materials in line with the curriculum.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the academy's educational programs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience teaching students in grades 1-12.
• Strong knowledge of the BC curriculum and educational standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
• Experienced fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Graduate students with subject knowledge are welcome to apply.
• Valid BC teaching certification is an asset but not required.
• Must be able to commute to the Burnaby location.
