Description

Barber Collins security is looking for two casual Security Guards to work at a client's facility in St. Thomas. This area is a high-traffic facility and customer service based.

Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be preferred.

Shifts:

  • No guaranteed permanent/set hours
  • Must be available to work days, afternoons/evenings and over night
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Potential for extra hours - covering shifts
  • Must be flexible and reliable

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting regular interior and exterior foot patrols.
  • Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
  • Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
  • Access control for the facility/area.
  • Ensuring that the facility's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
  • Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
  • Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
  • Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
  • Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
  • Integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
