Ottawa ON KZ T, Canada Badre Law Professional Corporation Full time

About Badre Law PC

Badre Law PC is a fast-growing personal injury law firm focused on motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and serious injury claims across Ontario. We are building a scalable, process-driven firm that delivers strong advocacy, empathy for our clients, and excellence in execution.

This role is a key part of that vision.

The Role

We are hiring a Claims Verification Specialist to serve as the gatekeeper for new personal injury files.

This is not a traditional law clerk or intake role.

You will be responsible for early-stage file ownership, ensuring that every file entering the firm is properly vetted, organized, and positioned for success before it is transferred to a lawyer or litigation team.

Your work directly impacts:

  • Lawyer efficiency
  • Case outcomes
  • Firm profitability

If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable making judgment calls, this role offers real responsibility and growth.

Key Responsibilities: File Intake & Verification

  • Take ownership of newly signed client files during the claims-verification phase
  • Review retainer agreements, accident details, and initial documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify red flags, gaps, or issues early and escalate appropriately

Benefits & Early Claims Management

  • Assist clients with accident benefits claims (IRBs, NEBs, medical/rehab benefits, etc.)
  • Communicate with insurers, adjusters, and benefits providers
  • Track deadlines, follow-ups, and required documentation

Liability & Damages Screening

  • Assess liability clarity and insurance coverage at an early stage
  • Help identify whether a file meets internal criteria to proceed to a lawyer/team
  • Prepare concise internal summaries to support decision-making

File Readiness & Transition

  • Ensure files are clean, organized, and litigation-ready before transfer
  • Move strong files forward efficiently
  • Assist in early disengagement of files that do not meet firm standards

Who This Role Is For

You will do well in this role if you:

  • Are highly organized and process-driven
  • Are comfortable managing multiple files simultaneously
  • Can communicate clearly and professionally with clients and insurers
  • Understand the importance of early case assessment
  • Take pride in preventing problems—not just reacting to them

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in personal injury law, insurance, or accident benefits (strong asset)
  • Law clerk, legal assistant, or claims background preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfort using case-management software (Filevine experience an asset)

Why This Role Matters

This position is a cornerstone of our growth strategy.

By ensuring only strong, well-prepared files reach our lawyers, the Claims Verification Specialist helps:

  • Improve outcomes for clients
  • Protect lawyer capacity
  • Support the firm's long-term growth

This is a role for someone who wants responsibility, trust, and the opportunity to grow with an up and coming law firm.

Benefits:

  • Extended health care
  • Paid time off
