Strange Fellows Brewing is part of the most awesome craft beer scene in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. We are a craft brewery that celebrates the unique, the strange and especially the peculiar things in life. We are located in East Vancouver, and we are looking to add a dynamic, positive, and hard-working person to our team … you might say, another stranger.
Roles and Responsibilities:
In this position at Strange Fellows Brewing, your primary responsibility will be to process orders and creating invoices for our customers throughout British Columbia. Secondary to this, you will complete a variety of other tasks that relate to our products, customers and inventory, all of which support the administrative team and company. You will work closely with all departments at Strange Fellows, often supporting their operations with your attention to detail and efforts.
Specifically, your role will include the following:
- Process incoming orders via email, phone calls and direct communication with sales representatives and/or customers throughout the day into our Brewery software (Ekos)
- Monitor and maintain inventory, prepare transfers, and perform weekly inventory counts on in-house and at third party delivery providers, ensuring inventory levels are sufficient for sales and marketing efforts
- Manage all aspects of online orders, updating our online store, and our 3rd party home delivery services
- Handle various administrative tasks that occur daily, including: Taking phone calls, speaking directly with customers, supporting the tasting room, helping with internal operations, creating forms, files and procedures for our work flow and reporting requirements, and other administrative tasks as needed
- Coverage of other administrative positions when needed based on vacation, sickness, etc.
Preferred Skills and Expectations:
The ideal candidate will have the following
- An ability to work in a small, team focused environment, often directly with the owners
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information, all with an attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and working knowledge of various other software is preferred but not necessary, including - Ekos, QuickBooks and MS Teams.
- An organized approach to work and excellent time management skills
- Ability to take direction while working independently and collaboratively with a keen ability to communicate and convey ideas and feedback
- Trustworthiness, honesty, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, who is a self-starter, and has a strong ability to find information and answers independently and accurately. You thrive on order and structure, and you like to function in a workplace that is based on routine and consistency. You work well with others, and likely have a background in administration, often in cross functional teams where you are exposed to a variety of tasks and duties.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
It is expected that this person will be educated with a college diploma and 1-2 years' experience in an office setting. This person should understand the demands associated with working for a craft brewery, often requiring the individual to help with a variety of tasks, depending on the time of the year.
Remuneration:
Strange Fellows is offering a compensation package that is based upon experience.
Other:
This position is an office-based position with full-time hours that fall from Monday to Friday. We offer benefits after 3 months of employment, an easy-going workplace, and a team that is inclusive, welcoming and fun to be around.
