REPORTS TO: Supervisor, RRC
LOCATION: North Bay
REFERENCE:
RATE OF PAY: $ $27.71/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement. Full rate
effective after 1 year of service)

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Support Staff provides assistance to the Diesel Shop and Car Shop with handling and delivering material and parts, operating the forklift, and cleaning in a safe and efficient manner.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning and washing duties
- Delivering parts
- Operating a forklift
- Sand and glass blasting
- Removing carpeting, tape and ty-rap
- Working with glue, seam sealer, paint stripper
- Tagging parts removed from equipment
- Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
- Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
- May work various shifts including weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
- May include performing preparatory work to coaches on the assembly line
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Current shift schedules are:
- Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Monday to Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
- Monday to Thursday 11:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.
- Secondary School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Previous cleaning/labour experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Experience operating a forklift considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work in a unionized team environment
- Must be available for shift work
- Valid driver's license an asset
- Previous railway experience an asset
- Must be committed to Company Health and Safety
