We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Active Kids Club Supervisor to lead our playroom team and ensure a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children.

Position Overview:

The Active Kids Club Supervisor is zealous about implementing a high-quality children's program for the members of Altea Active and our community. You will oversee the daily operations of the Active Kids Club ensuring that children are supervised and engaged in age-appropriate activities. This role involves managing a team of Active Kids Club team members, coordinating activities, events, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing exceptional service to both children and their parents.

These organized leaders possess strong leadership qualities that support the team to ensure high standards of care and safety. You also conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and development to your team. You are creative as you develop and implement a variety of activities and events for our mini members.

Your care and attention on maintaining cleanliness and safety in the Active Kids Club puts parents and guardians at ease, knowing their littles are in good hands. You regularly conduct safety checks and promptly address any concerns.

Your strong administrative and communication skills support parental communication as you serve as a main point of contact for parents and guardians, promptly addressing concerns and providing timely updates on their child's activities and behaviours. You maintain accurate records, incident reports and have strong technological abilities as you swiftly navigate our internal software systems ensuring information is up to date and accurate.

As an Active Kids Club Supervisor, a typical day might include the following:

  • Meeting and greeting a ton of familiar and unfamiliar faces
  • Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the centre's philosophy
  • Observing how children use materials and interact with each other and adults
  • Using observations to expand play and plan activities that recognize individual difference
  • Ensuring the child's environment is healthy and safe
  • Communicating positively and build trust with parents
  • Developing policies and procedures to ensure smooth, consistent execution of programs
  • Suggesting and employing creative marketing approaches to maintain program attendance
  • Projecting staffing needs and assist with the selection process of new program associates
  • Creating staff schedule, record hours and submit weekly payroll
  • Providing ongoing training and assist with evaluations to ensure exceptional service
  • Orchestrating all Active Kids Club programs registration process ie. completion of forms, monitoring availability, etc.
  • Maintaining clear, organized records for all aspects of program

To land this role you need to have:

  • Post-secondary education relating to early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or special education and additional certifications or workshops relating to child care are an asset.
  • A diploma or degree in recreation studies preferred.
  • Experience working with children from newborns old to 12 years old is required.
  • 3+ years' experience developing and leading a team in programs ranging from group games, sports programs, arts and crafts to small group events for clients ranging from newborns to 12 years old.

  • All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment.

  • A recent Criminal Background Check (Vulnerable Sector) prior to commencement of training and/or work.
