Position: Permanent 1.0 FTE position, reporting to the Director of CHC
Wage Range: $ $52.81
Current clinic hours are Monday – Thursday 8 am to 7 pm Friday 8 am - 5 pm
(Subject to change)
Days Off (Fixed or Rotating): Flexible
Summary of Job Description:
The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) utilizes advanced clinical knowledge to provide clinical practice and interventions relating to intake, assessment, crisis intervention, education, treatment, harm reduction, counselling, and referral for clients experiencing mental health, substance use, and/or concurrent disorder problems, and their caregivers/families. The MHC works collaboratively with the primary health care team to plan and deliver mental health / substance use (MHSU) individual and group programs and services to meet the needs of the community, for the catchment areas of Gordon Head/Shelbourne and Oak Bay.
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Counselling or Social Work or health-related discipline from an approved post-secondary institution.
Preferred three years experience, with significant understanding of mental health and substance use issues.
Knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act.
Additional clinical competency courses in mental health and/or substance use conditions are an asset.

Luther Court is a not-for-profit organization that has served Victoria with distinction for over 40 years and has exemplary status with Accreditation Canada. The Society has received funding to expand from a seniors focused housing and care organization to a Community Health Centre (CHC), providing integrated health, housing, and well-being services. In welcoming people of diverse backgrounds, the CHC will provide intergenerational care and services, with priority attention to seniors and people with mental health concerns. In addition to providing high quality housing and care to 120 residents, the expanded CHC team and newly renovated space will offer clinical care to over 4000 attached patients, population health programs, and health promotion outreach to the community.

Pay: $42.27-$52.81 per hour
