CBC/Radio-Canada stands at the heart of Canadian life: a trusted storyteller, cultural bridge, and unifying voice that connects people and communities across the country. For nearly nine decades, it has reflected the diversity, resilience, and imagination of Canada, helping Canadians see themselves and each other in new ways. Today, as the national public broadcaster and a defining cultural anchor, CBC/Radio-Canada continues to evolve, deepening its presence in communities, strengthening its digital and data capabilities, and empowering its people to create and collaborate in new ways. With a clear focus on innovation, agility, and sustainable impact, it is investing in the enablers that support bold storytelling and strengthen public connection across every platform, amplifying voices from all regions, languages, and cultures, including Indigenous Peoples whose stories and perspectives are central to Canada's past, present, and future.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Executive Vice-President, CBC - English Services (EVP), is a key member of CBC/Radio-Canada's Senior Executive Team, responsible for the strategy and day-to-day leadership of CBC's English-language services across news, radio, television, and digital platforms. Leading a workforce of over 3,000 employees in a highly unionized environment, the EVP oversees a portfolio that unites creative, editorial, and operational teams to deliver trusted journalism, distinctive entertainment, and meaningful digital experiences. This leader will drive transformation across people, content, and technology. A critical component of this leadership will be to enhance deep collaboration across all media lines, particularly with Radio-Canada - French Services, and to strengthen partnerships with essential corporate groups including Technology and Infrastructure, Legal Services, People and Culture, Finance, and Corporate Development. Furthermore, the EVP will modernize production models, embed diversity and inclusion in decision-making, and ensure CBC remains agile, innovative, and deeply relevant to Canadians in a fast-changing media landscape.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive who blends strategic foresight with creative vision. With experience leading large, bilingual media organizations, they bring the judgment, discipline, and imagination to drive innovation across news, entertainment, and digital platforms. Equally at ease in boardrooms, newsrooms, creative strategy meetings, and community forums, they build trust through integrity, collaboration, and respect. Skilled in managing complex stakeholder dynamics, from the independent production community and unions to global media partners, they embody a deep commitment to public service. This position requires a working level of French or a strong commitment to developing their proficiency. The Corporation is committed to linguistic duality and to supporting the selected candidate in attaining or maintaining their French language skills as they take on a national role, shaping a narrative that reflects Canada's regional, cultural, and Indigenous diversity. The role is based in Toronto.
