About this Position
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance Department.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of journal entries and associated schedules
- Validation of financial data related to group entities and mutual funds and seg funds
- Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts in Blackline
- Assist with daily mutual fund and seg fund oversight requirements
- Assist with monthly close process and ensure processes are strictly followed
- Create and maintain financial data models
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and board packages
- Assist with periodic variance analysis for dealer, fund manager and segregated funds
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for dealer, fund manager and segregated funds
- Prepare and upload necessary files for monthly management fees
- Update daily NAV tracker for the monthly management fees calculation
- Recommend and assist management with the implementation of process improvements, new processes and/or department policies.
- Assist with providing backups for external and regulatory audits
- Assist team to perform monthly tasks
- Preparation of various surveys
- Participate in digital transformation projects
- Perform various ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks as requested
Qualifications:
- Accounting or business diploma required
- Accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to follow well established procedures and processes
- Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines and priorities
- Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with strong follow through skills
- Highly flexible to work in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Highly detail-oriented and willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient in MS office programs
