Position Summary:

We are looking for experienced and passionate online English instructors to join our growing PTE Core teaching team.

This is a freelance, independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes.

As an independent contractor, you will deliver high-quality online lessons to adult learners preparing for the PTE Core exam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured PTE Core lessons online (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening).
  • Identify and correct students' pronunciation, fluency, and grammar issues effectively.
  • Provide detailed, constructive feedback after each session.
  • Communicate with the academic team regarding progress and teaching strategies.
  • Maintain reliability and professionalism in communication and scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese is an asset, as many learners are Chinese-speaking.
  • Excellent spoken English with clear, natural, and near-native pronunciation.
  • Strong listening ability to identify subtle pronunciation or tone issues.
  • PTE Core CLB 9+ or IELTS overall 7.5+ (Speaking 7.0+) would be an asset.
  • English major with TEM-8 or equivalent certification would be an asset.
  • Proven experience teaching English or PTE/IELTS preparation online.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — patient, empathetic, and student-focused.
  • Reliable internet connection and good-quality audio setup.

Contract Details:

  • This is an Independent Contractor position (not an employee role).
  • Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, including CPP/EI contributions where applicable.
  • Compensation is hourly, based on completed teaching sessions.
  • Hourly rate depends on experience and qualifications (to be confirmed during the interview).
  • Flexible working hours, coordinated mutually between teacher and company.
