Position Summary:
We are seeking a technically skilled and hands-on
Electrical Engineer
with experience in
power electronics design, PCB layout, and embedded firmware development
. This role is focused on the design, development, and validation of advanced
battery chargers and DC power systems
for heavy-duty truck and trailer applications.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, product-focused environment and is passionate about bringing high-reliability solutions from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Design
- Design and develop
DC battery charging systems
, DC/DC converters, and intelligent power distribution components. - Design analog and digital circuit schematics and oversee
PCB layout and routing
for performance, thermal efficiency, and manufacturability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications based on customer use cases in the heavy-duty vehicle market.
Firmware Development
- Develop and debug
embedded firmware
(C/C++) for microcontrollers used in battery chargers and power control modules. - Implement features such as temperature compensation, CAN/J1939 communication, diagnostics, and safety mechanisms.
- Conduct code reviews, bench testing, and validation for robust field performance.
Testing & Validation
- Build and execute test plans to validate circuit performance, EMI compliance, and firmware functionality.
- Support engineering documentation, compliance reviews, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) activities.
- Analyze field data and support root-cause investigations to drive product quality and reliability.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Field Applications teams to ensure products meet customer needs and are scalable for production.
- Support technical documentation, service manuals, and training for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 – 10 years of experience
in product development involving: - Power electronics design
(DC/DC, battery charging, inverters) - Embedded firmware
development (C/C++, microcontrollers) - PCB layout and analysis
- Strong knowledge of
battery chemistries
, charging algorithms, thermal management, and protection circuits. - Familiarity with
CANbus
, J1939, and vehicle electrical architectures is preferred. - Ability to use engineering tools such as Altium, SPICE simulation, and lab instrumentation.
Desired Attributes:
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and hands-on with a drive for innovation.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory and environmental compliance standards (SAE, ISO, UL) is a plus.
- Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or off-highway industries is highly preferred.
The candidate must be able to travel to US.
