KPMG's Immigration Law practice is looking for a Senior Immigration Coordinator, to join our Immigration Law group to support daily clerical and administrative activities. The Senior Immigration Coordinator is responsible for preparing and drafting legal arguments in support of various Canadian immigration applications and associated status and entry document applications.

Because of the diversity of clients and documentation this position requires proficiency in English, strong time management and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Moreover, KPMG Law LLP is a national law firm with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. Our assistants work closely with the lawyers to provide a superior client experience. KPMG Law LLP is affiliated with the professional services firm of KPMG LLP.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with the documentation collection for work permit and permanent residence applications.
  • Research the appropriate legal documents required for the application process and prepare instruction document lists accordingly.
  • Assist with obtaining legal documents (birth certificates, police clearances, etc.).
  • Prepare supporting documents for application packages (letters, application forms, etc.).
  • Conduct all work within established time standards.
  • Develop an informative communication stream with immigration administrators/lawyers.
  • Any duties assigned by the Lawyer/management.

Administration

  • Ensure that all client correspondence, documents and relevant data fields are recorded in KPMG's internal database(s).
  • Assist with preparing applications.
  • Respond to clients and/or vendors regarding invoice related matters.
  • Prepare files for billing once the immigration process is complete.
  • Filing, photocopying and mailing/courier.
  • Any other administrative responsibilities as required.

What You Bring To The Role

  • 2-5 years of experience in immigration processes, ideally work permits
  • College diploma or university degree
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to research and evaluate information effectively
  • Strong organizational and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

This role requires a strong working knowledge of laws and regulations in English—for Canada and abroad—as you will be working on immigration files for both internal and external clients across Canada.
