Job Description

JOB TITLE: Term Full-Time Accounting Assistant

EMPLOYEE CATEGORY: Full-Time, Term (Until April 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension)

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Arts in Business with accounting/finance specialization OR Diploma in Accounting or Finance Management from an accredited post-secondary school with recent, related experience of four years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience using SAGE 300 Accounting software; ComVida Software experience a strong assest.
  • Not for Profit experience preferred.
  • Excel, Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Successful clearance of a criminal record check.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in accounting, word processing, spreadsheets, and database computer programs.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate and train others using office equipment such as voice mail, fax, photocopier, and computers.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Applicants must demonstrate experience and knowledge of the full-cycle bookkeeping functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, Payroll.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps, as part of a team, maintain the accounting and payroll functions of the organization, including full cycle accounting functions using SAGE 300 and Comvida Software

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $29.00-$32.27 per hour
