Talent Acquisition Specialist

Dick's Lumber is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Balzac, AB. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing, and hiring the best-qualified employees, while factoring in the long-term goals of an organization. This role is also responsible for promoting the company's brand through recruitment initiatives and events.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and candidate selection criteria
- Update (or create) job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position
- Source candidates through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks
- Create job postings and post internally as well as externally on various job boards
- Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build strong candidate pipeline
- Screen resumes and send best qualified candidates to hiring managers for review
- Conduct reference checks and background checks on selected candidates and provide feedback to hiring manager
- Prepare offer letters for hiring managers
- Maintain records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes
- Maintain data on weekly recruitment activity, per banner
- Other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education specific to Human Resource Management or Business
- Two to three years of experience in talent acquisition or similar role
- Fluent in English/Hindi/Punjabi with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with individuals within and outside the organization.
- Experience in full-cycle recruiting, including various interview techniques and evaluation methods
- Proficiency with social media, resume databases and job posting boards
- Proficiency with documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends
- Excellent computer skills and experience working with MS Office
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, positive workplace relationships
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred
