SUMMARY

We are looking to fill 1 open vacancy for Mechanical Assembler on Day (1) Shift. This position will be on an open temporary contract-based term. The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for maintaining the flow of product through the manual assembly processes of the production. This position reports to the Production Leader.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain the flow of product through the Final Assembly & Integration processes production
  • Identify and resolve Process / Equipment / Tools requirements with the Production Leader
  • To be trained by Senior mechanical operators on processes such as epoxy application, any gluing process, heat sink application etc.
  • Align, fit and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and templates
  • Install electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies using hand soldering and hand tools
  • Use precision measuring tools or equipment
  • Move products to final QC or the next step in accordance with the priorities set by the Production Leader or designate
  • Verify board assembly prior to wave with the BOM, customer specs and View Station
  • To make sure first off for mechanical is being done completely
  • Ensure all the problems found during the first off inspection have been highlighted to the Production Leader and continue only after the manufacturing engineer has looked at it already
  • Raise issues/concerns with parts, orientation and any other challenges – obtain details and confirm with Supervisor that relevant details have been added to the View Station prior to running the future jobs
  • Verify all processes are performed to the documentation
  • Make sure housekeeping is being done at all stations and is maintained at all times
  • Ensure that each board is being properly scanned through the system, read instructions in the training aid for any quires
  • Always scan board using View Station
  • Bring all scanning related issues to the attention of the Production Leader
  • Handle and store materials/boards using ESD guidelines
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production
  • Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects
  • Perform other duties as required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of High School required
  • Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole components, drawings and BOMS
  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control
  • Electro-mechanical knowledge
  • Experienced in Box assembly as well as test
  • Able to lift at least 30Ibs
  • Good work habits and housekeeping
  • IPC Standards and ISO 9002: 1 year
  • Mechanical Assembly

WORK HOURS

  • Normal scheduled hours of work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Day Shift
  • Overtime may be scheduled from time to time based on operational and business needs

LOCATION

  • The position location is based in Markham, Ontario facilities (Building A at 195 Royal Crest Court and/or Building B at th Avenue)
  • Incumbent must be open to working at both facilities as business and operational needs dictate
