About the Position

We are seeking a qualified Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) who is passionate about supporting the growth and development of children under the age of three. This position plays an essential role in delivering high-quality, responsive care that aligns with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and best practices in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

Child-Centred Practice

  • Provide nurturing, responsive care that supports infants' and toddlers' emotional security, well-being, and development.
  • Follow individualized routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, sleep, and transitions.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate activities rooted in play, exploration, and sensory learning.
  • Promote inclusivity by adapting experiences for children with diverse abilities or developmental needs.

Health, Safety, and Licensing Compliance

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with BC licensing requirements.
  • Demonstrate awareness of safe sleep practices, hygiene routines, and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor children's health, complete required documentation, and report concerns promptly.

Family Partnerships

  • Build trusting, professional relationships with families through daily communication and respectful collaboration.
  • Provide updates on routines, developmental progress, and emerging needs.

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in planning, reflective practice, and team meetings with fellow educators.
  • Foster a supportive classroom culture where ideas are shared, challenges are solved together, and collaboration is valued.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education and ITE practice.

Qualifications

  • Valid Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) Certificate from the BC ECE Registry or currently enrolled and working toward ITE designation.
  • Current ECE First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
  • Knowledge of BC Early Learning Framework and BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers in licensed settings (preferred).
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry children safely, sit on the floor, and support daily caregiving routines.
