Job Description
The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor will oversee compliance related to health, safety, and environmental regulations for a Montreal facility with approximately 35–38 blue-collar employees. This role focuses on administrative tasks, monthly reporting, training coordination, and supporting safety committee meetings, without requiring travel to other locations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to Canadian and Provincial regulations, including CCOH, managing permits and hazardous waste disposal in compliance with environmental laws.
- Enforce EHS programs, policies, and procedures. Regularly update safety manuals and emergency response plans.
- Conduct safety orientations for new hires and refresher courses for existing staff, and provide specialized training on PPE, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and ergonomics.
- Perform routine workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards, and monitor operational processes and employee activities for compliance.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response drills such as fire, chemical spill, and evacuation, acting as a liaison during emergencies and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain records of incidents, training, and compliance activities, and track KPIs such as TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) and LTIR.
- Stay updated on evolving EHS regulations and best practices, recommending process improvements to reduce risks and enhance safety culture.
- Experience and understanding of CNESST and CCOH regulations.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Safety training expertise.
- Potential for extension or permanency based on performance.
- Interview process includes initial virtual interviews followed by on-site interviews.
This is an on-site role with a 40-hour work week, scheduled from 8 AM to 4 PM. The position involves working primarily in an office space but also requires presence on the floor.

Responsabilités
- Assurer la conformité avec les règlements canadiens et provinciaux, y compris le CCOH, la gestion des permis et l'élimination des déchets dangereux conformément aux lois environnementales.
- Appliquer les programmes, politiques et procédures EHS. Mettre à jour régulièrement les manuels de sécurité et les plans d'intervention d'urgence.
- Mener des orientations de sécurité pour les nouvelles recrues et des cours de recyclage pour le personnel existant, et fournir une formation spécialisée sur les EPI, l'entrée en espace confiné, le cadenassage et l'ergonomie.
- Effectuer des inspections et des audits de routine sur le lieu de travail pour identifier les dangers, et surveiller les processus opérationnels et les activités des employés pour assurer la conformité.
- Enquêter sur les accidents, les blessures et les incidents évités de justesse, rédiger des rapports détaillés et recommander des actions correctives.
- Coordonner des exercices d'intervention d'urgence tels que les incendies, les déversements de produits chimiques et les évacuations, en agissant comme un intermédiaire lors des urgences et des inspections réglementaires.
- Tenir des registres des incidents, des formations et des activités de conformité, et suivre les indicateurs clés de performance tels que le taux d'incidents enregistrables totaux (TRIR) et le taux de jours de travail perdus (LTIR).
- Rester informé des réglementations et des pratiques exemplaires EHS en évolution, et recommander des améliorations de processus pour réduire les risques et renforcer la culture de sécurité.
- Expérience et compréhension des règlements CNESST et CCOH.
- Au moins 1 an d'expérience dans un rôle similaire au sein d'un environnement de production ou de fabrication.
- Bilingue en anglais et en français.
- Compétences informatiques intermédiaires.
- Expertise en formation à la sécurité.
- Possibilité de prolongation ou de permanence en fonction des performances.
- Le processus d'entrevue comprend des entrevues virtuelles initiales suivies d'entrevues sur place.
Il s'agit d'un rôle sur site avec une semaine de travail de 40 heures, de 8 h à 16 h. Le poste implique principalement de travailler dans un espace de bureau, mais nécessite également une présence sur le terrain.
