CFIS is seeking a Food Service Custodian for our two school cafeterias for the school year. The Custodian is part of a strong group of employees dedicated to providing nutritious lunches and snacks that help our students reach their full academic potential.

Job Description:

CFIS is seeking a part-time Food Service Custodian for our Seed and Core Cafeterias. Responsibilities of this position include:

• Wash and sanitize dishes in both cafeterias, using Alberta Health Service approved method for commercial dishwashing appliances and the '3 sink method' where needed;
• Help students scrape dishes, compost, recycle and load trays and plates for washing, when needed;
• Work efficiently, independently and as part of the team;
• Ensure all tools are available to cooks and managers in other areas (such as food prep and service) where needed;
• Maintain laundry; washing and drying dishcloths, towels and aprons;
• Ensure laundry inventory is ready for the next food service day;
• Adhering to Alberta's safe food handling guidelines in maintaining a clean workspace;
• Ensure both cafeteria dining halls are prepared according to AHS standards for daily food service;
• Maintain clean and organized dishwasher rooms;

Other tasks include and are not limited to:

• Assist in cleaning the dining halls and kitchens both during and at the end of service; and
• Occasional after-hours assistance may be available for school sponsored events.

• Provide and model superior customer service to visitors, students, and employees;
• Strong planner and organizer;
• Strong multi-tasking skills;
• Exemplary professionalism in dealings with all stakeholders; and
• Interpersonal skills that foster collegiality and blend with CFIS's values.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in French would be an asset;
• English skills are required;
• A minimum of Emergency First Aid Level B childcare certification; and
• AHS Food Safety Provincial Certification.

The successful applicant will need to provide a recent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work.

Compensation:

• The position will be paid hourly at $16.48 per hour.
• The Food Service Custodian will have a regular four (4) hour shift per day.
• The position is eligible for employee group benefits and the Level 1 – 3% RSP (Retirement Saving Plan) benefit.
• Two (2) weeks off in December, one (1) week off in each February and March, and in the summer when the school is closed.
