SRED Technical Consultant

GPA LLP is seeking a Senior SR&ED Technical & Funding Consultant to lead and drive innovation funding strategies for our cutting-edge clients. As a senior member of our team, you will take ownership of the full SR&ED delivery process, from conducting technical eligibility assessments to preparing high-quality reports and representing clients during CRA reviews. Your expertise will also extend to identifying and structuring complementary non-dilutive funding opportunities.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex SR&ED engagements, developing and optimizing documentation frameworks, and ensuring compliance with CRA guidelines. You will also work closely with clients to identify eligible R&D activities across various industries, including manufacturing, software, and advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage SR&ED claims from start to finish for a range of clients.
- Conduct technical eligibility assessments, interviews, and provide guidance to client technical teams.
- Author detailed, high-quality technical narratives that demonstrate technological advancements and uncertainties.
- Represent clients in CRA technical reviews, advocating for their claims.
- Optimize and implement best practices for SR&ED documentation and compliance systems.
- Identify and structure complementary grant and funding opportunities to support innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of direct SR&ED experience with a proven track record in successful claims and audit support.
- In-depth knowledge of CRA SR&ED policies, eligibility guidelines, and tax legislation.
- Expertise in various industrial and emerging R&D processes (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, software).
- Experience with grants and non-dilutive funding programs.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, compliant documentation.
- Excellent client management and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
