The Department of Educational Psychology & Special Education, University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level commencing January 1, 2026 (negotiable) with a focus on teacher education specifically in the area of Educational Psychology and Special Education. This is a "Teaching Stream" position and the faculty member's roles is primarily and substantively focused on instruction and teaching in academic programs. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching courses, supervising graduate students, clinical instruction, clinical service and/or professional practice. Duties normally include limited research, scholarly, and/or artistic work, as well as service and/or administrative responsibilities. Duties may also include outreach, engagement, or public service. Like teacher-scholar faculty positions, this position is tenure-track and can receive promotion up to full professor.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in educational psychology, assessments, special education, and inclusive education and research-related courses such as introductory and intermediate statistics courses. Candidates must have a completed or near completion Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and/or Special Education or related field. We seek candidates with high-level research methods training, the pedagogical skills to clearly communicate sophisticated methods to diverse audiences, and the ability to apply their explanations to substantive examples in education.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Educational Psychology and Special Education and have the capacity to supervise graduate students utilizing a variety of research methods such as quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods.
All Department members are expected to teach graduate and undergraduate (teacher education) courses, supervise graduate students, participate in administrative work, serve on committees, and provide public services. Some faculty members also engage in supervision of the student practicum experience.

The salary band for this post is $110,489 to $139,049. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package which includes pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long-term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefit, dental plan, extended health and vision care plan, employee assistance program and flexible health and wellness spending program.
