Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual for the On-Call Position ECE. This role is essential in providing quality care and education to young children, particularly those with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. As an on-call position, flexibility is key, as you will be called upon to support various classrooms as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to children in a classroom setting.
  • Implement educational activities that promote learning and development in alignment with early childhood education standards.
  • Assist children with disabilities in their daily routines and learning activities, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff to create a welcoming environment.
  • Collaborate with other educators and caregivers to develop individualized plans for children's growth and development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.

Requirements

  • Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (specific to the child care sector)
  • Classroom experience in early childhood settings preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated teaching skills with the ability to actively engage and inspire young children
  • Background in Early Childhood Education or a related field is considered an asset
  • Prior experience in caregiving roles with children is beneficial
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • A genuine passion for fostering children's growth and development through play-based learning
