We have been in business for over 50 years as a Beaver Lumber/Home Hardware (and even longer as a hardware store. Throughout this time, we have developed a reputation as a great place to work. • Full timers have a consistent schedule with consistent days off - We cannot promise your schedule will never change. We can promise that we will not shift days off or shift times week to week. We believe you should schedule life activities months in advance with confidence.
• You will know your schedule one week in advance.
• We guarantee your scheduled hours - No calling in to see if you are needed. No being forced to go home in the middle of a shift because there are not enough customers in the store. We expect you to step up when it is busy, so we step up when it is not.
• Your ideas matter - We have an "every door is an open-door policy," except for the bathroom, please lock it up, no one wants to see that Central Builders PG is a family business in the best sense of the word. That means getting your great idea or thoughts to the top is as easy as commenting on a Facebook post.
• Professional customer base - Our customer base is comprised of other professionals. Skilled trades, doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, bankers, other bankers. Did I mention bankers yet? Because we are professionals, they treat us with the same respect and dignity that they expect at their job.

Hardware knowledge/experience is fantastic, but it is not why we hire people

We hire people that we would want to have lunch with for the next five years. Our philosophy is we can teach you about hardware; we cannot teach you how to be friendly, personable, and professional.

• Petting – Lions, tigers, bears, oh my. Seriously just dogs mostly and the occasional cat or parakeet.
• Hardware – Woodworkers, machinists, and other tradesmen who can handle being with the loose screws.
• Paint – Look at all the pretty colours.
• Electrical – An energetic department.
• Plumbing – You don't even have to crawl under a house.

You can apply online. Those who apply in person will be given priority. We want you to come check out the store, talk to employees, feel the vibe and determine if this is someplace you want to spend 5 or 10 years at. You might have to wait a bit, but we make every effort to interview candidates when they come in (this doesn't apply during peak hours or on the weekends). Customer service is always our top priority.
