Job Description:

The Owner Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating a commercial motor vehicle transporting LTL and FTL as required throughout Canada and the United States. The Owner Operator must understand that the company operates in a changing environment, and that he or she must be responsive to change. As a result, new directives may be added or deleted from the list of responsibilities. This position requires the OwnerOperator to be on the road for 10–12 days at a time, depending on operational needs and routes assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow for safe transportation of materials
  • Responsible for daily completion of all required paperwork, such as Bill of Ladings, load sheets, ELD logs, scaling truck and trailer before commencing on trips, etc.
  • Perform pre-trip, inter-trip and post trip vehicle inspections and adjustments, preventive maintenance, tire chain-ups, brake adjustments and minor on-road repairs as needed
  • Pick up and deliver freight in a timely and safe manner
  • Cross border

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license
  • Commercial driving experience required
  • Minimum 5 years LTL driving experience preferred
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Strong communication skills
  • Values and prioritized safety
  • Successfully complete Caneda pre-screen requirements
