Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time Registered Infusion Nurse to to join our dedicated and growing interdisciplinary team The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care within an infusion clinic setting, ensuring the safe and accurate administration of intravenous, injectable, and oral therapies.

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will deliver and monitor specialized treatments, assess patients for infusion-related reactions, and intervene when necessary. You will also be responsible for thorough documentation, timely reporting, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.

The ideal candidate is confident in providing safe infusion therapy independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient health assessments and provide education on medication administration.
  • Establish IV access via peripheral insertion.
  • Prepare and administer specialized intravenous and injectable therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications, intervening as needed.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation pre- and post-administration accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring all care provided is properly documented.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, safety standards, and infection control protocols within the clinic.
  • Report and document all adverse events in accordance with Pharmacovigilance requirements.
  • Coordinate supplies and inventory with the Speciality Pharma Supervisor.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the Specialty Pharma Supervisor to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Proven clinical experience, ideally in an infusion, acute care, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (mandatory).
  • Strong ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent IV therapy or infusion experience (hospital, clinic, or home care).
  • Proficient in venipuncture and IV insertion techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in acute care, specialty pharmaceutical administration, or oncology is preferred.
