VanWest College invites applicants who are available and interested in teaching various AHLEI Hospitality Management Courses within our career training Hospitality program at the Kelowna location.
These will include Front Desk, Supervision, Food and Beverage, Security, Facilities Management, and Housekeeping.
Classes are delivered in daily 5-hour blocks (Monday-Friday) from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Each 4-week course requires 100 hours of in-class, instructor-led delivery. Months with holidays may require slightly extended hours to make up 100 in total. Friday classes can be delivered online. The total contract amount payable for each course is $3000.00, plus taxes if applicable.
The following are the start dates for :
- Oct 27, 2025, Managing Front Office Operations.
- Nov 24, 2025, Managing Housekeeping Operations.
- Jan 19, 2026, Supervision in the Hospitality Industry
- Feb 16, 2026, Security and Loss Prevention
- Mar 16, 2026, Hospitality Facilities Management and Design
Education, Experience & Required Skills:
- Relevant industry experience of two years. Hotel Management experience in various departments only, please.
- Undergraduate degree or certificate in business or other relevant disciplines OR relevant industry experience of ten years total. AHLEI certification accepted.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and in a multi-cultural collaborative team setting.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
