The Ovintiv Financial Reporting Team has an opportunity for a full-time accountant to join our team. As a key member of the Financial Reporting team, this role will include significant involvement in the preparation/review of Ovintiv's quarterly and annual Consolidated Financial Statements (FS), Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), Ovintiv's quarterly Supplemental Information, as well as the preparation and review of legal entity financial statements and other monthly/quarterly reports. This position will appeal to a highly motivated, well-organized individual who strives for excellence in reporting accuracy, with strong analytical and communication skills. The successful candidate will work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare Ovintiv's quarterly and annual reports, focusing on the FS and/or MD&A. This includes drafting disclosures and preparing supporting documentation for SOX compliance.

· Liaise with key stakeholders of the FS and MD&A, including working with the Company's Operations Reporting, Capital Reporting, Marketing Accounting, Treasury, Risk, Tax and Legal groups, ensuring agreement and consistency with the Company's internal/external quarterly reporting documents.

· Prepare/review Ovintiv's quarterly Supplemental Information report.

· Review and provide comments on regulatory and other quarterly disclosure documents including Ovintiv's FS, MD&A, investor relations materials and financial information for internal analysis and SOX documentation.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly Flash reporting to the Executive Leadership team including some variance analysis between current year actuals, budget and outlook.

· Prepare and/or review various legal entity F/S, including compilation of referenced supporting working paper files.

· Ensure compliance with internal controls.

· Perform ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned to support other members of the Financial Reporting team.

· Interact with internal and external auditors as required.

· Drive continuous improvement with an innovative mindset.

Qualifications:

· Relevant experience working in accounting or external financial reporting functions.

· Designated Chartered Professional Accountant.

· Knowledge of oil & gas business and U.S. GAAP considered an asset.

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Previous experience with ActiveDisclosure, FloQast, D365 Finance system and SharePoint considered an asset.

· Strong analytical skills and focused attention to detail.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

· Function independently with minimal direction.
