Role Summary
As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding MealBets' presence in the education and workplace sectors. You will be responsible for initiating and maintaining partnerships with schools, school councils, and school boards, while also developing opportunities in office meal services. This role is crucial to driving our growth through community engagement, strategic outreach, and partnership execution.
Key Responsibilities
School & Education Channel
- Identify, reach out to, and establish partnerships with schools to launch MealBets' lunch programs
- Present MealBets' services to school administrators, councils, and parent organizations
- Coordinate onboarding, delivery schedules, and service logistics with new schools
- Serve as the main liaison with school boards and councils for approvals and ongoing collaboration
Office & Business Channel
- Explore and build new business partnerships with companies and office buildings
- Pitch and promote MealBets' office lunch ordering and delivery service
- Collaborate with company admins or office managers for pilot trials and rollout
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with operation team and product team —operations, customer success, logistics, and kitchen vendors—to ensure seamless onboarding and service quality
- Provide strategic input into marketing campaigns targeting new schools or offices
Reporting & Performance
- Track and report on pipeline growth, partnership status, and onboarding success
- Analyze drop-offs or bottlenecks in partnership conversion and propose solutions
- Help maintain CRM or outreach tracking tools as required
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales (education or food service experience is a major asset)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a confident, persuasive presence
- Experience building trust with public institutions, school councils, or office managers
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Passionate about food, education, family convenience, or community-based business models
- Available for occasional in-person meetings or school visits (especially in GTA)
Contract Details
- Type: Contract position (6–12 months, can be extended based on performance, and stock option is available)
- Compensation: Base salary + commission (performance-based incentives)
- Work Hours: Flexible, outcome-focused schedule
- Location: Remote-friendly (Toronto preferred for occasional field work)
