The Opportunity:

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Accounting Clerk at our Home Office, located at 10 Prairie Way in Winnipeg. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Accounting Supervisor.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.
  • Reconcile daily gas bar, petroleum and food store sales transactions and sales reports to ensure accuracy and appropriate coding.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of sales transactions.
  • Maintain and update various excel reconciliations and monitoring reports.
  • Match and analyze inventory purchases to vendor invoices, investigating any discrepancies. 
  • Provide outstanding internal and external customer service. 
  • Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement and process improvements to the organization for further efficiency growth.
  • Assist with other accounting and administration departments and duties as needed or required.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Basic to intermediate accounting knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines. 
  • You possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • You are a proactive, forward-thinking individual who has the ability to multi-task, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • You must be able to build and maintain relationships and have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. 
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
