Key Responsibilities

The Janitor will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store and staff areas. Core duties include:

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of the main sales floor, including sweeping, mopping, and ensuring aisles are free of debris and spills.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize all sales floor fixtures (shelving, displays, glass cases, etc.) to maintain a hygienic and appealing shopping environment.
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock supplies in staff washrooms daily, or as required, to ensure a clean and sanitary space.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling from all designated areas.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and toiletries, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Assist with other cleaning duties as needed, which may include cleaning windows, dusting, and responding to unexpected clean-up needs.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Janitor, Custodian, or Cleaner is preferred.
  • Ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies effectively and safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to completing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
  • Reliable, professional, and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff and customers.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical cleaning tasks for extended periods (e.g., must be able to lift up to 25-50 lbs).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
