Packing Line / Crop supervisor for 10 acre Greenhouse facility.
This position will oversee all daily packing-line / crop work operations within a mini cucumber facility. This role will ensure efficient workflow, product quality, accuracy, timely crop work, compliance with health & safety, food safety, and Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program regulations.
This position is located onsite at the greenhouse and cannot be done remotely. We are located in Essex county with no public transportation nearby, so a reliable way to get to work is a must. The candidate must be legally able to work in Canada to apply for this job.
Compensation package is negotiable and based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Experience in supervising a packing line, and or agricultural production (greenhouse experience is an asset)
- Understanding of Temporary Foreign Worker program requirements and workforce management
- Familiarity with Health & Safety practices, including WHMIS or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety standards (GAP, GMP, HACCP)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- P-Plus / Label view software knowledge an asset
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in greenhouse environment with variable temperatures
- Standing, walking, and light to moderate lifting required
- Peak seasonal periods may require extended or flexible hours
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day packing / crop work operations to meet harvesting & production targets
- Coordinate staff assignments, monitor performance, and provide on the job training
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety (GAP/HACCP), and TFW regulations
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and ensure safe operation of packing equipment
- Verify product grading, labeling, packaging, and traceability requirements
- Communicate with logistics team to maintain smooth product flow
- Maintain accurate records (production logs, staff hours, safety checks, and quality forms).
- Train new staff, including temporary foreign workers
