We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Technician to join our Design/Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating technical drawings and information from upstream processes into actionable production data. You will work with a variety of software, including our ERP system and machine programming software, to create the information packages required by the fabrication teams. This is a critical position that ensures all production information is accurate, follows shop build standards, and complete before it is released to the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret build drawings to create and structure assemblies within the ERP system in a logical manner for downstream operations.
  • Accurately enter all raw materials, purchased components, and labor hours into the correct assemblies in the ERP system.
  • Consider stock levels, standard components, and material availability when entering data from build drawings.
  • Program material processing equipment, such as Flat Lasers and Tube Lasers, using files provided by the Design/Engineering team.
  • Review drawing packages from Design/Engineering to ensure they are complete and meet internal standards before release to production.
  • Save all necessary files for shop production in the correct file locations for all downstream operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with Epicor or another ERP system
  • A good understanding of the steel fabrication process
  • The ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and other technical documents
  • A good understanding of different materials and products related to steel fabrication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with programming software
