CODE IS YOUR favourite LANGUAGE.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about technology and the power of automation? Do you enjoy writing clean, efficient code and finding elegant solutions to complex problems? If so, you might be a great fit for our team.

As a Data Developer, you'll play a key role in building robust data pipelines, deployment workflows, and orchestration architecture that help streamline communication across the Bank. Your primary responsibility will be to translate business processes into efficient, testable, supportable, and largely automated workflows.

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and innovative work environment, where your technical skills will directly contribute to meaningful improvements—and where great ideas and great benefits go hand in hand.

* This role is a 3-month opportunity with a possibility of extension. *

The Team You've Been Looking For

Bridgewater Bank is more than a financial institution; we're a team of passionate people who care deeply about helping others succeed. Unlike traditional banks, we have no branches. This means less time managing logistics and more time focused on providing straightforward, honest service and smart financial solutions that support our clients in reaching life's biggest milestones.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of AMA, we share a proud legacy of service and a commitment to doing the right thing for our customers, our communities, and each other. At Bridgewater Bank, you'll be part of a nimble, forward-thinking organization where your ideas matter, your contributions are valued, and your growth is encouraged. We're driven to make a positive impact and our close-knit culture values flexibility, innovation, and genuine connection. As part of the Bridgewater team, you'll enjoy:

  • Competitive wage
  • Benefits if you choose to receive them (with payroll deductions)
  • Great AMA discounts
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Vacation pay is added to each paycheque
  • Flexible work models that make sense for your lifestyle

  • You love rolling up your sleeves and digging into the details.
  • You handle even the tightest deadlines with a cool head and clear vision.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Architect & Scale: Design modular, scalable data architectures aligned with enterprise strategy and cloud environments.
  • Develop & Automate: Build and maintain advanced data pipelines using tools like dbt, Python, and SQL; implement CI/CD for testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Ensure Security & Compliance: Define and enforce secure development practices in line with data governance, privacy regulations, and internal policies.
  • Drive Innovation: Lead tool evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and recommend new technologies that align with business goals.
  • Ensure Data Quality & Reliability: Establish robust validation, monitoring, and observability practices to ensure trustworthy, high-quality data products.
  • Collaborate & Mentor: Advise analysts on the decisions and data you need from them and how they can best leverage your solutions to test requirements and conduct on-going data validation in production.
  • Enable Business Insights: Partner with business teams to deliver performance semantic models and empower self-service reporting using tools like Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

What You Bring to the Table

  • You have at least 5 years of development experience.
  • You've worked in enterprise data enough to know how data platforms fit with governance and integration solutions.
  • You're comfortable working with data security at rest and in transit.
  • You're also at ease with Application Programming Interface (API) management and design.
  • You have experience with the following languages:
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Java or C#
  • JavaScript
  • Git (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • You'll get bonus points if you have:
  • You're a pro at cloud engineering, CI/CD, or developing data-backed applications using a combination of REST, RDBMS technologies
  • Azure and\or AWS experience with App Services, SQL Server, Function and Logic Apps
  • Powershell or Bash
